Gridz was started in July 2006 by Stephen Gifford, as a unique
and modern way to display photographs. It came about through
trial-and-error mounting in the quest to find a cool way to
display a series of photos as a set.
Stephen is a freelance artist based in Seattle, Washington.
He attended art school for graphic design and has a creative
background in sewing, silkscreen art, videography, photography, and graphic design.
"I have such a passion for art and I know how hard it can be for artists, specifically photographers, to find a venue to show their work. I know what it's like going business-to-business to find placement for my artwork and I've also worked at an art gallery and know how exclusive & expensive art generally is.
I use these experiences and my knowledge of what artists--and consumers--are looking for to provide a good creative home for photographers and a place to find excellent, affordable art for consumers."
